Welcome to the home of the University of Southampton's Human  Powered Vehicle Project!

 

 

The HPV project group are proud to announce a new collaboration with Smiths Aerospace to develop the next generation design. This joint venture will aim to produce a world record competing design using the expertise and manufacturing excellence of Smiths Aerospace.

 

Project Abstract

The HPV programme is run by a group of fourth year engineers as a final year project, and is now in its fourth year.

The overall aim is to design a vehicle capable of challenging for the HPV World Speed Record.

The University possesses a state of the art wind tunnel, Computational Flow Dynamics, Finite Element Analysis software, and composites manufacturing facilities. Each year a new group of students bring enthusiasm and fresh thinking to the project.
